Republicans are one of the largest political parties in the United States of America. Republicans were formed in the mid 1800s in the year 1854, to fight for the non-extension of slavery. The Republicans have proven to be a strong political force ever since. The Republican Party is the more conservative of the two main political parties in the United States. The Republicans fall to the right of the political realm. The Republican Party is also commonly called the Grand Old Party. Many attribute their name to their traditional political values. There are 55 million voters currently registered as Republicans. Although they do not come in first place for the number of registered voters, the political party has not been unsuccessful in all their political pursuits.

1. The very first platform that was held by the Republican Party was their opposition to slavery. Then, President Abraham Lincoln, was a member of the Republican Party. Abraham Lincoln with the help of fellow Republicans was able to win their efforts in the abolition of slavery.

2. A key goal of the Republican party at its first inception was to make the United States a more modern society. They worked to initiate some of America’s core values. The Republicans wanted to make drastic changes to the very ideologies that the country was originally founded upon. One of the ways that they wanted to go about doing so is by implementing change by way of education. The Republican Party wanted to make sure that the knowledge that we all contain was being shared across the masses throughout the country.

3. The Republicans also worked extremely hard in terms of banking in the United States. The Republican Party largely contributed to the effort of seeing to it that the United States of America’s economy were to flourish. One of the ways that the Republican Party was able to spark that growth potential was through railroads. These railroad largely increased the amount of travel throughout the country. Likewise, the railroads were instrumental in increasing the amount of profit that the country brought in.

4. The Republican Party launched its very first political campaign in 1856. The Republicans were able to create quite a movement during this time. They were able to influence other people to share their views. Additionally, the Republican Party was able to ban together to form an even stronger unit. They were not successful in winning their first election, but that still did not still their thunder. They still went on to fight for what they believed in, and still do. To this very day, their political influence remains quite a force to reckon with.

The Republican Party was formed in 1854 as they ban together in opposition of the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The Republican Party did not agree with the bill that Stephen A. Douglass, the Senator of Illinois intended to pass. The Kansas-Nebraska Act would allow settlers of the two territories the authority to decide if they would permit slavery in the given region. As a Republican, this was something that the party was highly against. The Republican Party did not want to see there being the possibility for slavery to be extended out to even more regions of the country. As a Republican in that day and age, the key aspect that people worked so hard to fight for was the abolition of slavery. So this is something that they were highly against. This made each Republican ban together even closer. They wanted to do whatever they could to see to it that they could show a stronger force than the current democracy on the issue. As a Republican, they worked to be able to bring forth positive change. They wanted to reshape the current state of the government. The Republican Party worked extremely hard to ensure that the policies that they were concerned with were improved and originated accordingly.

1. As a Republican, one of the early efforts that was made was in terms of the country’s political prosperity. The average Republican back in the 1800s wanted to see that there was forward movement in this country. The Republican Party saw the growth potential that was evident in America. The Republican just needed the platform to voice their opinions and make sure that they were genuinely heard. They needed to then get into political office so that they could carry out these political goals.

2. The Republican Party was highly concerned with the lifestyles of the farmers. As a Republican, they wanted farmers to be able to live a fruitful life. In the meantime, as a Republican, they wanted to see that America’s economy be able to grow more abundantly. The Republican Party wanted to see to it that they created an industry that would afford opportunities to the masses. They wanted to see that the income of the country were to increase more abundantly.

3. The Republican Party was instrumental in building the cities that we know and love. Aside from the aesthetic beauty of a city, as a Republican, you wanted to see that a large amount of revenue would be earned as a result of the building of these cities. The Republican Party was able to initiate that effort. Those American cities that the Republicans help to build still have the very foundation that the original members of the Republican Party were instrumental in building from the ground up.
