Debates

A debate is an interactive approach that allows the candidates to express how they feel about the presented issues. A debate is when the candidates get to come together in one venue and unveil their platforms. Debates allow the candidates to be heard on the key issues at hand. A debate is a way in which a democratic society uses to give the candidates in a political election the opportunity to express their viewpoints on the issues of the land. Furthermore, debates allow the candidates to outline what their approach will be to those issues. The subject of the debate is never completely the same throughout the Presidential elections. There are always going to be different issues that each debate will cover. The topics of political debates are contingent upon what issues the people in society are currently facing. In the current government of the United States, there is more than one debate that takes place. Depending on what is going on in the country at the given time of each of the debates will vary, so therefore will the topics. No matter what direction the debate tends to go in, each election year, the debates seem to carry a great deal of weight. the hearts and the minds of the voters are usually instilled in what comes out of these debates. The voting that is often reflected shows the power of this political election process.

1. Political election debates in the United States of America, are typically held in large venues such as large lecture halls or university centers. The debates are monitored by typically one, or more officials. The venue is filled with the citizens of the land. For those that are unable to attend the debate, there is a live broadcast of the event on both television as well as radio. In fact, the the presidential political election debate is one of the most watched events on television each election year. It is very important that the people hear what each political candidate has to say. Besides, some of the governing stances that they have are going to reflect their lives over the course of the next few years.

2. The very first presidential debate took place in the year 1960. Although there have been several debates before then, this debate was said to set the forefront for the election debates that we experience today. Probably the most famous of all the series of debates is the debate that took place during the course of 1958 between President Abraham Lincoln and Senator Stephen A. Douglass. Both men were so passionate in expressing their viewpoints on the issues that the country was facing, in particular slavery.
